Translation Guide for CatalogX

Brief Introduction #

Localizing CatalogX is easy and straightforward, all you need is a translation file for your language.

You may create translations as has been outlined in the WordPress Codex, but the easiest possible way that we have found out for you is to use the Loco Translate plugin.

Creating Custom Translations #

  1. Download, Install, and Activate Loco Translate

Then go to Loco Translate >> Settings >> Site Options >> Extracting Strings, here in the “Scan JavaScript files with extensions” section add js, jsx and click on save settings.

After doing so, a menu item named “Loco Translate ” with five subsections will be created. 

  1. Navigate to Plugins: Go to the Plugins section and select CatalogX.
  2. Add New Languages:
  • Click on the New Language link.
  • Choose the desired language from the list, or if your language is not listed among the WordPress Languages, select Custom Language and enter the language ISO code. For more details, see Reference 3.

Note: Loco Translate offers three different locations for storing translations:

  • Other : Select the option from here and then start translating.
  1. Start Translating:
  • Click on Start Translating. The screenshot below provides further clarification.
  • Click on the Source Texts and add your translations.
  • Click Save to save your translations.
